Sampson is just the second player to decommit in Syracuse's 2018 class.

Class of 2018 four-star offensive lineman Tyrone Sampson Jr. “reopened his recruitment” and will not sign a national letter of intent with Syracuse on Wednesday, he announced in a Tweet.

Sampson originally committed to SU in April. At the time of his commitment, he was the highest-ranked player in Dino Babers’ 2018 class. Currently, Sampson has offers from Indiana, Minnesota and Louisville, among others. 247sports.com predicts the Detroit native to sign with Michigan or Michigan State, although he has not received a scholarship offer from either school.

Also to decommit from SU’s 2018 class is running back Hassan Hall, who said in his Tweet announcing his decommitment that SU would stay in the mix. It is unclear whether Sampson will continue to consider Syracuse.

Sampson was one of two four-star offensive lineman committed to SU, the other being Qadir White, who has signed with the Orange.
