Two students robbed at gunpoint in Oakwood Cemetery Saturday night
Two Syracuse University College of Law students were robbed at gunpoint in Oakwood Cemetery on Saturday night, according to a Syracuse Police Department news release.
The students were cutting through the cemetery when four male suspects, one of whom had a long, silver-barreled handgun, approached them at 8:30 p.m., according to the release.
After telling the victims to lie on the ground, the suspects then kicked them and stole their wallets, car keys, IDs and shoes before running away, according to the release.
The victims alerted SU’s Department of Safety about the robbery, according to the release.
They described the suspects as black males between 16 and 22 years old, 5 feet 9 inches, according to the release. One of the suspects was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt, while the others were wearing dark colored hooded sweatshirts.
There are no further updates and the investigation is ongoing, SPD Sgt. Tom Connellan said in an email.
Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to contact SPD.
