Two SU students appear in court for disorderly conduct charges stemming from February dance party

Two Syracuse University students appeared in Syracuse City Court on Tuesday afternoon. The students were arrested outside of the Schine Student Center in February following fights that broke out after a dance party in Goldstein Auditorium.

Lawrence Jackson and Andre Sadler appeared in front of City Court Judge Karen Uplinger shortly after 2 p.m. Uplinger said the cases will be dismissed in six months and that the students’ records will be sealed if they stay out of trouble.

After the appearance, Jackson and Sadler declined to comment.

Both were arrested on charges of disorderly conduct following a Feb. 2 dance party held in Schine. Jackson is a student in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and Sadler is in the Martin J. Whitman School of Management. They had their cases adjourned in March because they were out of town.

Six other SU students were also arrested outside of Schine and one was arrested at the John C. Dillon Public Safety Building. They appeared in city court March 12.
