Maryland’s 2013 season has resulted in yet another final four. Let’s delve into some of the items of interest from this perennial lacrosse power.

Record: 21-0 (5-0)

Season Wrap-Up: Maryland has been sensational to say the least. The Terps have played 21 games, and won all 21. What’s most impressive is that it hasn’t really been close. Maryland played in one, one-goal game this season, a 14-13 win at home against North Carolina. The Terrapins won five games by 10 goals or more. They handled the pressure of tournament play combined with an undefeated record with poise, winning the ACC tournament title; each game by four goals. They expressed the same dominance in the tournament. Maryland took down Stony Brook by eight goals, before defeating Duke by five in the quarterfinal, punching its ticket to Villanova.

By the numbers:

15.19- That’s the number of goals the Terps averaged per game this season. It was good enough for third in the country.

67- The amount of goals Alex Aust netted this season. This is tied for second in the country with Syracuse’s Kayla Treanor.

7.61- Maryland’s average margin of victory for the Terps this season.

You ought to know:

Here, there and everywhere: Maryland was just as good on the road as at home. Maryland won 12 games at home, and 9 on the road.

Last time: On Feb. 17, Maryland came into the Carrier Dome and beat the Orange 19-11 behind Katie Schwarzmann’s seven goals.

Champs: The Terps have won 10 national championships, the most in division I women’s lacrosse history. The Terps are 10-6 in the big game, including winning their most recent trip to the big game in 2010; a 13-11 win over Northwestern.

The old dynasty: Maryland won seven straight national championships from 1995-2001. Including a 1992 title, the Terps won 8 of 10 titles from 1992 to 2001.
