Community mourns loss of iSchool alumna

A two-time graduate of Syracuse University’s School of Information Studies has died, triggering messages of grief and condolences from the SU community.

Katie Bennett, who earned her bachelor’s degree from the iSchool in 2010 and her master’s in information management in 2012, died unexpectedly of natural causes, according to a June 25 article by The Post-Standard.

In 2010, Bennett was awarded the iSchool’s Undergraduate Leadership Award. She was working as a technology analyst for J.P.Morgan Chase in Philadelphia at the time of her death, according to a June 25 iSchool news release.

The iSchool created a web page where classmates and professors have posted remembrance messages to honor Bennett.

“Katie was one of the best,” wrote Jeffrey Rubin, an associate professor of practice at the iSchool who worked with Bennett at his company, SIDEARM Sports.  “She loved her family and her friends, and will be deeply missed.”
