Syracuse basketball recruiting: Orange offers preferred walk-on spot to son of tallest NBA player ever
Syracuse head coach Jim Boeheim offered Class of 2016 forward George Muresan a preferred walk-on spot, according to his high school basketball team’s Twitter account.

The St. Andrew’s (Maryland) product stands 6 feet, 8 inches tall, according to a Washington Post story. His father Gheorge Muresan is the tallest player ever in the NBA, standing 7 feet, 7 inches tall. Muresan, his dad and high school coach visited Syracuse this weekend, according to a Syracuse.com story.
“I definitely had fun,” George Muresan, 17, said to Syracuse.com. “I got to see the football game and the practice facility and I really liked it. I’d never seen anything like that before.”
Muresan’s high school coach Kevin Jones told Syracuse.com that he holds offers from Ivy League, Patriot League and Division III programs. The story also mentions that Muresean, if he chooses Syracuse, could potentially earn a scholarship down the line.
