The SU community will have the chance to learn more about the Campus Master Plan, one part of Chancellor Kent Syverud's Fast Forward Initiative.

Syracuse University officials, a representative from Sasaki Associates and members of the Campus Framework Advisory Group will host an update session on SU’s Campus Master Plan on March 2, the university has announced.

Those leading the event — including Michael Speaks, dean of the School of Architecture; Dennis Pieprz, principal at Sasaki Associates; members of the advisory group; and other SU officials — will provide details on the status of the plan and the projects expected to be included in the plan’s first phase, according to an SU News release.

The Campus Framework Advisory Group consists of students, faculty and staff who have collaborated with Sasaki Associates, SU’s design partner, “to analyze the viability of all current campus structures,” according to the release.

The Campus Master Plan is part of Chancellor Kent Syverud’s Fast Forward initiative and is meant to guide future campus development in coordination with the Academic Strategic Plan, another Fast Forward initiative.

At a session for the Campus Master Plan in April 2015, preliminary ideas included the creation of university and academic promenades and renovations to key campus buildings, including the Carrier Dome.
The March 2 update session will be held at 4 p.m. in Goldstein Auditorium inside the Schine Student Center, according to the release. It will be open to students, faculty and staff.
