Senior offensive lineman Seamus Shanley has left the Syracuse football program, SU Athletics confirmed on Tuesday morning. Syracuse.com first reported the news.

Shanley, who is still listed in SU’s student directory, started the first three games of the 2015 season at right guard after beating out then-redshirt freshman Aaron Roberts in training camp for the starting job. He also played in the final nine games of the year but didn’t start since then-senior Rob Trudo shifted from center to right guard and then-junior Jason Emerich became the starting center.

Senior Omari Palmer (30 games) and Emerich (10 games) are the only two offensive linemen left on SU’s roster who have started multiple games.

The 6-foot-1, 288-pound Shanley is the third player to leave the Orange program since Dino Babers was hired as head coach, joining running back Devante McFarlane and wide receiver Ben Lewis.

Four other players have been dismissed from the team: sophomore defensive ends Amir Ealey and Qaadir Sheppard, junior offensive lineman Alex Hayes and redshirt freshman defensive end Kenny Carter.
