Power outage cancels classes in SU’s Hall of Languages

Syracuse University canceled Wednesday evening classes in the Hall of Languages after a power outage.
Students were notified in an Orange Alert around 5:30 p.m. that the building would be closed for the night due to the outage. Crews are working Wednesday evening to fix the power issue, according to an SU News release.
Department of Public Safety safety officers were present at the Hall of Languages Wednesday afternoon to inform students of the outage and escort faculty and staff into the building to pick up their belongings.
Temporary power outages for several other campus buildings are scheduled for 10 p.m. Wednesday to resolve the issue. The following buildings will be affected by the temporary outages, per the release:
- Crouse College
- Eggers Hall
- Huntington Beard Crouse Hall
- Hendricks Chapel
- Maxwell Hall
- Tolley Humanities Building
- Holden Observatory
- Steele Hall
No evening classes in buildings affected by the temporary outages will be canceled, and classes at the Hall of Languages will resume tomorrow, according to the release.
