Syracuse men’s basketball’s 2023-24 schedule is finalized with the Atlantic Coast Conference releasing the full slate on Tuesday. SU’s 31-game schedule will feature 11 nonconference and 20 ACC games.

In home and away ACC matchups, the Orange face Boston College, Clemson, Louisville, North Carolina, NC State and Pittsburgh. Syracuse faces Florida State, Miami, Notre Dame and Virginia Tech only at home and will travel to Duke, Georgia Tech, Virginia and Wake Forest. The 2024 ACC Tournament is from March 12-16 at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.

The Orange begin conference play with a matchup at Virginia (Dec. 2) and do not face a conference opponent for four weeks until it hosts Pittsburgh (Dec. 30). Three days later, Syracuse travels to Duke (Jan. 2), the defending ACC Champions.

Eight days later, the Orange host Boston College (Jan. 10) before a two-game road trip to North Carolina (Jan. 13) and Pittsburgh (Jan. 16). Afterward, Syracuse stays at home for two weeks, facing Miami (Jan. 20), Florida State (Jan. 23) and NC State (Jan. 27). The Hurricanes reached the 2023 Final Four.

It’ll go on the road for games at Boston College (Jan. 30) and Wake Forest (Feb. 3) before having another three-game ACC home stand with Louisville (Feb. 7), Clemson (Feb. 10) and UNC (Feb. 13).

To close the regular season, the Orange play four of their final six games on the road at Georgia Tech (Feb. 17), NC State (Feb. 20), Louisville (March 2) and Clemson (March 5). In between the games against the Wolfpack and Cardinals, Syracuse stays at home for matchups with Notre Dame (Feb. 24) and Virginia Tech (Feb. 27).

Last season, the Orange finished 10-10 in conference play, ending their season on a buzzer-beater against Wake Forest at the ACC Tournament in what would be Jim Boeheim’s final game as head coach.

Nonconference play

Adrian Autry, who took over after Boeheim retired after 47 seasons as head coach in March, will make his debut against New Hampshire (Nov. 6), the first of a three-game homestand as Syracuse hosts Canisius (Nov. 8) and Colgate (Nov. 14). Colgate has beaten Syracuse the past two seasons at The Dome, both wins by double-digits.

A six-day break precedes the Orange’s first of three games in the Maui Jim Maui Invitational against Tennessee (Nov. 20), which will be followed by games on Nov. 21 and Nov. 22. Syracuse, a three-time champion of the event (1990, 1998, 2013), will make its fourth appearance at the tournament. The field also consists of Purdue, Gonzaga, Kansas, Marquette, UCLA and Chaminade.

The invitational has been moved to Honolulu on the island of O’ahu from the Lahaina Civic Center in Maui as the original venue is being used for wildfire recovery efforts.

The Orange will return to the Dome on Nov. 28 for the innagural ACC/SEC Challenge against LSU. After traveling to Virginia (Dec. 2), it’ll host in-state rival Cornell (Dec. 5) before visiting former Big East rival Georgetown (Dec. 9) for the 97th time. Syracuse then closes out nonconference play with a neutral site game against Oregon (Dec. 17) in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and a home game against Niagara (Dec. 21).

Syracuse’s roster consists of seven new players, bringing in transfers like J.J. Starling (Notre Dame), Naheem McLeod (Florida State), Kyle Cuffe Jr. (Kansas) and Chance Westry (Auburn). The Orange also return starting guard Judah Mintz, who withdrew from the 2023 NBA draft process and is now a projected first-round pick in 2024.

Fans can get an early glimpse of this year’s Syracuse squad at Orange Tip-Off (Oct. 13) in the JMA Wireless Dome and at Monroe Madness (Oct. 21) in Rochester. Syracuse will also play two exhibition games in the Dome against Daemen (Oct. 27) and College of St. Rose (Nov. 1) before the season.
