Syracuse guard Judah Mintz was named to the 2024 Bob Cousy Award Watch List on Monday. The annual award is given to the nation’s best collegiate point guard. Mintz, now in his sophomore year with the Orange, is one of 20 candidates.

Voting for the award will consist of three rounds. In late January, the 20-person watch list will be shortened to 10 before being narrowed down to five in late February. The winner will be selected in March.

In his freshman season at Syracuse, Mintz earned 2022-23 Atlantic Coast Conference All-Freshman Team honors and was named an All-ACC Honorable Mention. Mintz started all 32 games for the Orange, averaging 16.3 points, 4.6 assists and 2.3 rebounds a game. His 1.8 steals per game led the ACC.

Following the 2022-23 season, Mintz participated in the 2023 NBA Draft process before announcing his return to Syracuse on May 31. During SU men’s basketball’s first media availability of the year, Mintz said he worked on his outside shooting this offseason.
