Man reportedly shot in Oakwood Cemetery; wound not life-threatening

A man was reportedly shot in Oakwood Cemetery Saturday night and walked into Crouse Hospital with a wound to his left elbow, according to a Syracuse Police Department news release.

The shooting reportedly happened at 7:50 p.m. in the cemetery, which is about five minutes from Syracuse University, according to the release.

The victim is 22 years old and from Syracuse, according to the release. He is not an SU student.

He was uncooperative and was very intoxicated, and couldn’t give police a description of the suspect, according to the release. The wound wasn’t life-threatening, according to the release.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call SPD.
