Cellphones, wallet taken in off-campus robbery Wednesday morning
Two people were robbed at the intersection of Clarendon Street and Maryland Avenue early Wednesday morning, according to a Department of Public Safety email sent to students.
The victims are not affiliated with Syracuse University and did not sustain any injuries.
Just before 1:30 a.m. three unknown males, showing what appeared to be a small handgun, approached the victims and demanded the victims’ cellphones, wallets, keys and purse, according to the email. The suspects then fled the area in a dark blue sedan, according to the email. They were last seen heading east on Clarendon Street.
The victims reported the incident to the Syracuse Police Department. SPD and DPS could not be reached for comment.
DPS asks that anyone with information on the incident contact SPD or DPS. The first suspect is described as a black male, 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a baseball cap and a dark colored New York Yankees coat and is possibly in possession of a handgun. The second suspect is described as a black male, 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighing 180 pounds. The third subject is described as a black male with no further description.
