Recipe: s’mores balls

Between pitching tents, hiking with giant canned-food filled backpacks and building the perfect fire, who doesn’t love a good camping trip? Unfortunately for those five people at Syracuse University, conditions aren’t exactly perfect for such an adventure. But one of the classic camping traditions beloved by camping enthusiasts and outdoor-phobes alike can be easily recreated in the comfort of any dorm room or apartment: s’mores!

Without a stick or an open fire, though, the traditional treat can’t be easily attained. This dessert requires only four ingredients, hardly any skill and a measly microwave and cookie sheet (or desktop, whatever). So break out those sleeping bags kids, it’s time for s’mores balls!

Add to shopping cart:1 package semisweet-chocolate pieces (16 oz.)1 jar marshmallow cream (ex. Smuckers or Fluff) (7 oz or 2 cups)7 sheets of graham crackers Proceed to check-out:1. Add chocolate to a microwave safe container and microwave for about five minutes or until soft, blend until completely melted.2. Add in marshmallow, a bit at a time, while stirring. When completely mixed, let cool for about 15 minutes.3. Meanwhile, take a cookie sheet and spray with cooking spray or butter spray. 4. Put crackers in zip-lock bag and crush into tiny pieces. Spread over cookie sheet.5. Take half of the crumbs and stir them into the marshmallow mixture. Spread the rest onto the tin.6. Form marshmallow mixture into balls and roll into crumbs, covering completely. 7. Arrange balls onto plate. Put into fridge and let harden for about 10 minutes.8. Enjoy!
